Community Appreciation
In conjunction with the King Coal Festival, a Community Appreciation Day was held September 18th on the Williamson Campus of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College where the public was served a free pinto bean and cornbread dinner. A plaque was presented to Mayor Darrin McCormick by Southern's President Joanne Jaeger Tomblin in recognition of the City of Williamson's Centennial celebration. Everyone enjoyed a gospel sing featuring local talent which was organized by Rush Runyon.
