Madison, WV - A donation to the Carrie Ann Scott Memorial Scholarship was recently made to the Southern West Virginia Community College Foundation by members of the Madison Middle School Student Council. Monies were raised by the council during a spaghetti dinner held at the school.
The Carrie Ann Scott Memorial Scholarship was established in her honor by the family. She was a teacher at the Madison Middle School.
Southern representatives Randy Skeens, Logan Campus manager and Ronald E. Lemon, director for development, received the donation on behalf of the college The scholarship funds are administered through Southern's Foundation.
Skeens was the guest speaker at the “Hour of Honor” banquet on April 11th which recognized 6th , 7th , and 8th grade honor students at Madison Middle School. The event was attended by over 500 parents, faculty, students, and representatives of the Boone County Schools Superintendent's office.
