Nurses Count

Nurses Count...Nearly 200 representatives from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College joined the West Virginia Nurses Association on February 9th in recognition of Nurses Unity Day 2006 at the State Capitol in Charleston. Southern's nursing students, instructors and staff were recognized by Lieutenant Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and Senator H. Truman Chafin inside the Senate Chambers. Pamela L. Alderman, Administrative Vice-President and Dean of Allied Health at Southern said the students from the Kanawha Valley Site and Logan Campus also participated in the Nurses Count session held at the Cultural Center. Following the session, students and instructors had the opportunity to meet with Legislators. Southern is known throughout the state for its successful nursing program which has one of the highest passage rates in the nation.
