Harmony Week 2006...Illene Evans portrayed civil rights leader Memphis T. Garrison on March 2nd at the Savas-Kostas Theater at the Logan Campus of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. Students from Logan Middle School, Man Central and Chapmanville Middle School heard about the life of Mrs. Garrison who was an educator in McDowell County, West Virginia. The students also viewed a film entitled, "The Monster Within" which addressed prejudice. The event was hosted by Southern, Appalread and members of the Logan/Boone Chapter of the NAACP. The 10th Annual Harmony Week is dedicated to multi-culturalism, diversity and education within our communities.
