Talk show host Montel Williams made a recent visit to Charleston to give an update on the efforts of the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA), sponsored by America's pharmaceutical research companies. Williams is the spokesman for the program which features the "Help Is Here Express" bus which has been traveling across America helping people who can not afford the medicines they need, get their medicines for free or nearly free. The bus has made several stops in West Virginia including the campuses of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College in Logan, Mingo and Wyoming counties.
Southern representatives Ron Lemon, Cindy Crigger and Marcus Gibbs were invited to a press conference and breakfast with Williams which was held at the West Virginia state capitol.
