Representatives for CEDAR (Coal Education Development and Resource) presented a check for $5,000 to fund scholarships in partnership with the Southern West Virginia Community College Foundation following a recent Logan Rotary Club meeting. The CEDAR Scholarships are funded by the West Virginia Development Office, CEDAR of Southern West Virginia, Inc., and the Southern West Virginia Community College Foundation, Inc. The scholarships are designated to high school seniors in Mingo, Logan, Boone, McDowell, and Wyoming counties.

The 10 annual CEDAR Scholarships support education, the development and the use of the largest natural resource in West Virginia - coal.
