The program meets identified need for the health care industry in the region.

Prepare graduates to work in hospital and surgical facilities.
There is a growing demand for people trained in sterile processing.

The need for Central Sterile Supply Technicians is projected to grow, in WV it is projected there will be a 15% increase in the need for CSSTs.

Southern has clinical affiliation agreements with numerous hospitals throughout southern WV and Eastern KY.

First class graduated with a certificate degree in May 2010. All students passed the national certification exam and are employed.
