![]() | MaryAnn Chambers MaryAnn Chambers graduated from the Regional Christian School in May, 2010 and is pursuing a career in elementary education. Mary Ann was in the National Beta Club from 2006 – 2010, helping with Christmas drives for less fortunate children and disaster relief efforts. She loves to cook and is writing her own cookbook. Mary Ann’s goal as a Cotiga Fellow is to achieve her dreams and help others reach theirs. |
![]() | Jamie Columbia Jaime Columbia is a 2010 graduate of Burch High School. Jaime is majoring in early childhood development and plans on becoming an elementary school teacher. She served as captain of the volleyball and softball teams in her senior year at Burch and enjoys being active. Jaime applied for a Cotiga Fellowship so that she may gain the ability to be a wonderful leader, make new friends, and help the people in her community. |
![]() | Jessica Fields Jessica Fields graduated Williamson High School in 2010 and has plans to become a respiratory therapist. Jessica’s high school career included Hi-Y, student government, and playing high school basketball, track, volleyball, and softball. Jessica hopes that as a Cotiga Fellow she will gain new life experiences, a sense of leadership and pride, and have the opportunity to help others. |
![]() | Brian Ford Brian Ford, a 2009 graduate of Burch High School, is studying to become a history professor. He loves music, helping others, and spending time with his friends. Brian’s hopes that his experiences as a Cotiga Fellow will allow him to gain a sense of pride and self achievement through his work. Brian looks forward to serving the community and promises to bring enthusiasm and cheerful views to the projects! |
![]() | Jennie McGuire Jennie McGuire is a 2010 graduate of Belfry High School and a member of the Tug Valley Road Runners Club. Jennie’s career goal is to become an animator and voice actor. She is an active volunteer in her community and had the honor of designing t-shirts used in the annual Hatfield McCoy Marathon. Jennie hopes that being involved in the Appalachian Leadership Academy will give her confidence, leadership skills, lasting friendships and good memories. |
![]() | Allie Paxton Allie Paxton is a 2010 graduate of Tug Valley High School. Allie loves to sing and act and is working towards her Associate’s Degree in the Arts with future plans of becoming a kindergarten teacher. She loves the theater and has performed in the Aracoma Story. Allie hopes that through her involvement as a Cotiga Fellow she will have the opportunity take a greater role in her community and church and gain the confidence to be a great leader. |
![]() | Cory Scalf Cory Scalf graduated Belfry High School in 2010 and plans to enter an Allied Health profession. He is a musician who was very active in his high school band and still volunteers his time at Belfry High School assisting with this endeavor. Cory applied to the Appalachian Leadership Academy because he wants to gain better leadership qualities that he can apply in school, the community, his job, and maybe one day the world. |
![]() | Brittany Smith Brittany Smith, a 2010 graduate of Belfry High School, is an active member of her church and loves to get out and help others. Brittany’s personal motto is to “Put Everyone else before yourself.” Brittany is majoring in business and accounting and hopes to one day open a community center that will provide a fun, yet safe, environment of our region’s youth. |
