New Online Textbook Store

To grow their spirit store and provide more textbook options, Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College moved their textbooks online to MBS Direct.

April 3, 2013 (Columbia, Mo.) – Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College provides options and opportunities for students at all levels. And it was time they had a textbook program as flexible as they were.

“There is a lot of overhead in a textbook program, from housing the inventory to dealing with old editions. There are much better ways we can use those resources,” said Samuel Litteral, Vice President for Finance and Administration at Southern. “We’ve worked with MBS for years on our buybacks, so we know they are a very service-oriented company. With MBS Direct, students can buy their course materials any time, from anywhere, and they have more options, such as rental and digital.”

Through their online bookstore, students only need to go to one place to get all the materials for their classes. MBS Direct provides money-saving options with competitive new book prices, the largest inventory of used books and guaranteed buyback so students know upfront what to expect when they sell back at the end of the term. With a 24/7 contact center, students can call, email or chat with an MBS Direct representative whenever they have a question.

For more than 20 years, MBS Direct has been helping schools get textbooks to their students all over the world. More than 900 higher-education institutions and K-12 schools rely on MBS Direct’s technology, service and partnerships to get the right books to their students right on time. Direct Digital, MBS Direct’s digital platform, brings learning off the printed page with embedded resources, note sharing and text-to-speech capabilities. Faculty get reporting features not possible with traditional textbooks and students get the flexibility to read books on whatever device and platform they already have.
