Southern Harvest Half Marathon and 5K to be held Saturday in Williamson

Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College Foundation and the Tug Valley Road Runners Club are preparing to host their third annual Southern Harvest Half Marathon and 5K on Saturday, November 10, 2018. The marathon will begin at Southern’s Williamson campus at 9:00 a.m. Participants can still register for the half marathon (13.1 miles), the 5K (3.1 miles), or the walk. Late registration will be open just prior to the marathon, from 7:00 – 8:45 a.m. Saturday. A pasta dinner for runners will be held on Southern’s Williamson campus on Friday evening, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the 4th floor. Starter’s Restaurant is providing the food, which includes meat sauce and vegan options. The dinners are free for participants, and $9 for a guest.

All proceeds from this event to Southern’s Foundation, which awards scholarships to Southern students each semester. The Southern Foundation, as well as the Tug Valley Road Runners Club, are registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Donations to this event may be tax deductible.
