2011-2012 Savas-Kostas Award for Excellence
The Office of the President is seeking nominations for its 30th Annual Outstanding Savas-Kostas Award for Excellence which will be presented at commencement exercises on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Coalfield Jamboree Theater in Logan, West Virginia.
The Savas-Kostas Outstanding Faculty Award, which includes a $1,000 honorarium, recognizes two faculty members who have provided exceptional outreach to the community; made significant contributions to improve education in southern West Virginia; or provided leadership in professional organizations or institutional governance. All full-time faculty members who have been employed at Southern for at least two years are eligible for the award.
The Savas-Kostas Outstanding Staff Award, which includes a $500 honorarium, recognizes two classified staff members who have provided exceptional outreach to the community; provided leadership in professional organizations or institutional governance; provided outstanding service or performance. All full-time classified staff members who have been employed at Southern for at least two years are eligible for the award.
Nominations can be made by faculty, classified staff, students, and administrators of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. The deadline for nominations is 4 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012. Late submissions will not be considered.
