Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College 2021 Commencement

Join us Saturday, May 15 at 10 AM to Celebrate our Graduates!

Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College will hold its 2021 Commencement ceremony online this Saturday, May 15th.

This year’s event will be held virtually. Planning had to be made months in advance. Due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, Southern opted to make his year’s ceremony an online event. Still, graduates will be honored for completing their degrees in various fields.

The ceremony takes place in the Savas Kostas Performing Arts Center on the Logan campus on a fully decorated stage with President Dr. Pam Alderman, staff, and employees.

Guest speakers include Governor Jim Justice and Senators Joe Manchin and Shelly Moore Capito.

“During these uncertain days, we appreciate the patience and understanding of the students, their parents, families, and friends. We hope that we can all be together next year for this celebration,” Dr. Pamela Alderman, President of Southern, said.

“I am extremely proud of all our graduates and their accomplishments at our institution,” Alderman said.

The local college will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next school year. Various events are planned on all its campuses, located in Logan, Williamson, Boone, Lincoln, and Wyoming.

Commencement will premiere this Saturday, May 15th, at 10 am on both Southern’s Facebook page and Southern’s YouTube channel.
