Southern WV Community & Technical College to Host Community Advisory Committee Meeting

Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College Logan Campus A Building Advisory Meeting Event

Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College will host a Community Advisory Committee meeting on March 5 at 5:30 p.m. in the Savas Kostas Performing Arts Center on the Logan campus.

The primary purpose of a community advisory committee is to assist the College’s faculty, staff, and administration in creating, operating, and evaluating academic programs by providing constructive feedback. Individual advisory committees are established for specific professional and technical programs leading to associate degrees and certificates.

Community advisory committees are critical to ensuring that academic programs remain current, relevant, and responsive to workforce needs. While programs may follow national standards and licensure requirements, advisory committee members provide valuable, real-world insight that helps the College better understand the knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions employers seek in future employees.

By working with industry professionals and community partners, Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College strengthens the link between education and employment, helping students be well prepared for their chosen careers.
