Biography
Chris begin working at Southern in January 1996 on the Wyoming/McDowell Campus as Part-Time Assistant to the Dean. In January 1999, He moved to the position of Accounting Assistant I on the Wyoming Campus. There he worked in the Business Office and Bookstore. In October 2000, he moved to the Williamson Campus as Business Manager I. There he managed the operations of the Campus Business Office, Information Desk, Mail Operations, and Bookstore. In August 2008, he was made Manager of Business and Auxiliary Services. In this position, he continued to oversee the operation of the Williamson Campus Business Office and Bookstore, but had additional college-wide duties added, such as, tuition and fee assessment. In June 2022, Chris got the position of Bursar.
Chris has served on numerous committees. He currently serves on the Classified Staff Council, Southern’s representative to the Advisory Council for Classified Employees, and Strategic Planning Committee. He has served on several ad hoc or special committees. He participated in the second class of the President’s Future Leaders Program. He is in NACUBO’s inaugural Emerging Leaders Program.
Chris has been involved with many of Southern’s theater productions including The Odd Couple (as Felix), Steel Magnolias (directed), and One Few Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (as Cheswick).
