Getting Ready for Clinicals!
Southern’s first-year Radiologic Technology students had the opportunity to tour two of our clinical sites today, Tug Valley ARH and Pikeville Medical Center, as they prepare to begin their clinical rotations later this month!
These tours give our students a chance to become familiar with the hospitals, radiology departments, and clinical environments before their first official day. While visiting Pikeville Medical Center, staff also brought in a C-arm and gave the students an introduction to the equipment and how it is used. What a great opportunity for them to see and learn before stepping into their clinical roles!
Our students previously had the opportunity to become familiar with Logan Regional Medical Center during their job shadowing experience over the summer. On Thursday, they will continue their clinical site tours with visits to Boone Memorial and Thomas Medical Center.
We are so thankful for all of our clinical affiliates and the technologists and staff who invest their time in teaching and mentoring our students. Their partnership provides the hands-on experiences our students need to learn, grow, and become great technologists!
