Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College to Hold 4th Annual Community Trunk or Treat This Week

Logan, WV — Southern West Virginia Community & Technical College is gearing up for its 4th Annual Community Trunk or Treat, one of the area’s largest indoor Halloween celebrations. The event will take place on Thursday, October 31, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Southern’s Logan Campus.

This family-friendly event offers a safe, one-stop trick-or-treating experience for children and families in the community. Local businesses, community organizations, and Southern departments will come together to decorate tables and hand out candy in a fun, festive atmosphere.

“Community is our middle name,” said Dr. Corley Dennison, Southern’s Interim President. “We are always seeking opportunities to benefit our region, and Trunk or Treat is a perfect way to connect with our community through a fun and positive event.”

The evening will feature more than just candy. Attendees can look forward to prizes, giveaways, and special treats, including a limited number of event T-shirts, flashing foam sticks, pumpkin backpacks, and more.

Bill France, Southern’s Director of Communications, said the event has quickly become a community favorite. “I’ve always loved Halloween, and this event is one of my favorites each year. It gives kids a chance to dress up, have fun, and enjoy a safe trick-or-treating experience—all while bringing the community together.”

The event has grown in size and popularity each year. “We didn’t know what to expect the first year,” France said. “But the response from local businesses and organizations was overwhelming, and the turnout was incredible. Each year, we make it bigger and better.”

This event is sponsored in part by Ramaco Resources, Jennmar Services, and Core Natural Resources.
