Southern WV Community & Technical College Recognized as a 2024 “Great College to Work For”

Southern WV Community & Technical College has been recognized as one of the nation’s top institutions in the esteemed 2024 Great Colleges to Work For® program. This accolade places Southern in an exclusive group, with only two colleges in West Virginia receiving this honor and Southern standing out as the only community college in the state to earn the distinction.

The recognition, announced on GreatCollegesList.com and featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education, celebrates Southern’s excellence in two key areas: Shared Governance and Faculty Experience. Dr. Pamela L. Alderman, President of Southern, expressed her pride in the achievement, noting, “This honor validates the community we’ve built here at Southern. This prestigious recognition has been awarded to Southern only three times in its 53-year history and exclusively during Dr. Alderman’s presidency.

Southern was one of only 75 institutions to be honored, with employee feedback playing a critical role.
